Blogging 101

Greetings SassyStylers,

I know many of you are coming to this blog to get information on sensible and stylish fashion options.  That certainly is the purpose of this blog. I am aware however that some of you are writing your own blogs and may want to learn more about updating your blog and growing your readership. The purpose of this series posts are to share the information I am learning about inbound marketing with those of you are looking for blogging tips.

There is a wonderful free resource provided by HubSpot called Inbound Marketing University (www.inboundmarketinguniversity.com). The purpose is to teach individuals how to build a credible social media brand and how to attract readers to the brand. They have a series of 16 classes and also offer a certification.

As we get serious about launching and nurturing this blog, I wanted to make sure I was well equipped to service my readers in the best way, which is why I decided to take this series of classes.
Today’s class was basically Blogging 101. I learned several things about creating a blog, that you will see reflective as changes in our format and will help us make sure we are creating content that hopefully everyone will enjoy.

For me I found the most 3 relevant things to implement are:
  1. Blog Layout – It is very important to make sure your blog is organized in a way that makes your content appealing, easy to read and most important organized in a way your readers can find what they need. We will be using a two column layout. We will also include links to other relevant websites so we can create additional value for our readers.
  2.  Relevant search terms. We will include search terms in our blog that reflect what our readers want to see. We will use our readers comments to develop our article as we evolve to make sure our blog is fresh and readercentric. This will hopefully help us to grow our readership by making sure people who are interested in our type of styling options can find us in search engines.
  3. Interacting with our readers – We want to have a dialogue with everyone who reads our blog, so we will be responding personally to comments whether positive or negative, in a way that reflects our brand and values.

Hopefully these hints help you refine your blogging strategy and you find them to be helpful. Please let me know if you try out any of these tips and they help you.

In the meantime, be blessed, awesome and productive.

One Complete Outfit $20 or Less

Greetings Sensible Sassy Stylers!

My budding fashionista Aris and I had the idea for this blog @ a year ago. The timing wasn't the best, as I had just started a new job and we had just moved to a new city.

Now that we are nice and settled and getting ready for back to school, we thought there was no better time to start our blog.

We are going to launch by sharing this video with you. This was my entry into Miss Toni Daley's You Tube challenge on dressing for $20 or less.

You can expect that we will share at least one post with you a week.

Thank you for your patience.

Be blessed, awesome and productive. Remember style comes for the heart not the wallet.
